Public House uses OAuth 2.0 to connect to Salesforce — a secure protocol that allows third-party services to access specific Salesforce data without requiring passwords or sensitive credentials. You'll designate one Salesforce user as the authorized user to establish and maintain this connection.
The authorized user must be an active staff member with all standard Public House permission sets assigned. See Permission Sets Reference for the complete list, or Setting Up New Staff if the authorized user hasn't been configured yet.
Authorizing Public House
- In Salesforce, go to Public House App → PH Setup → Authorization.
- Click Authorize.
- Salesforce will launch an OAuth prompt — log in with the account of the user who will serve as the authorized user and approve the connection.
- Once complete, the authorized user's name will appear as the Current Authorized User.
Changing the Authorized User
You should only need to change the authorized user when the current user is being deactivated. Before making this change, ensure the new authorized user has all required permission sets assigned.
If you're changing the authorized user because a staff member is leaving, see Revoking Staff Access for the full offboarding workflow.
Revoking Public House Access Entirely
Revoke permissions only if you are completely removing Public House from your Salesforce org. If you are unsure, contact support at support@public.house before proceeding.
- Go to Salesforce Settings and search for Connected Apps OAuth Usage.
- Click the linked number under the User Count column.
- Select Revoke.
After revoking, Public House will no longer be able to communicate with Salesforce.
